Prague, Czech Republic
First of all, thank you all so much for the congratulations on our engagement and kind comments. It is nice to feel so loved and supported.

Second of all, we – thankfully – made it to Prague! This is a very interesting place. It is technically located in central Europe, but it is much more similar to Eastern Europe. It is very different from anything we’ve seen so far. Where London and Paris were more flat, Prague is very hilly and you can see mountains surrounding the city. The buildings are old, but not maintained as well as the ones in Paris. The whole city has a very different feel and you can see both American/Western European influences, as well as, Russian. It is also much colder here!
We FINALLY got lost today! We’ve gone the whole trip without getting lost a single time and I was, frankly, beginning to think Josh was a GPS robot. We searched all around and could not find the start point of our free city tour. I think if we had kept looking for it we probably would have found it, but my cold is getting worse and I didn’t feel like walking in the huge crowd that was gathered in the Old Town Square.
Of course, Josh couldn’t stand the fact that he couldn’t find something, so he has spent most of the rest of the day studying maps of the city. I don’t think we’ll be getting lost again, haha. I, personally, think getting lost is part of the fun, but my fiance does not share this opinion

After not going on the tour (which we hope to try to redo later this week) we stopped for lunch on the way to our hotel. I couldn’t tell you the name of the place we stopped, but I can tell you about the food. First, we’re basically rich here. The Czech currency is like 18 koruna to 1 dollar. So, we have a little extra money to splurge with.
We decided to share this thing called Bohemian Grub. It was HUGE and consisted of – brace yourselves – duck, smoked pork, pork shoulder, potato dumplings, bread dumplings and cabbage. The whole thing came topped in gravy. The bread dumplings tasted and looked like slices of white bread without the crust and with seasonings baked in. The potato dumplings were much thicker, but had the same consistency and general taste of the bread dumplings. Josh liked the potato ones. I liked the bread ones.
The duck was delicious, but a little hard to eat since it was a leg still on the bone. The smoked pork tasted almost like smoked turkey and was pretty lean. The pork shoulder was basically a big piece of ham – which Josh really liked. We both liked the cabbage, but Josh said it wasn’t nearly as good as his great-grandmothers.
Beer is cheaper than anything else to drink so we had beer – even though I don’t really care for it. It came out in huge glass mugs and I did enjoy thinking of things to cheer to and clink our mugs.
We also ordered an apple strudel for dessert. It came hot with homemade whipped cream on the side. It was probably my favorite part of the meal and we ended up fork fighting over the last scoop of whipped cream. This whole meal cost about $25 dollars. Cha-ching!

After lunch we came to check in at our hotel. This place is NICE. We have our own bathroom – like in our room! We’re on the 4th floor again, but this place has an elevator and much less steep stairs. We also have a french window in this room, too – which I love.
Josh really likes that we have plenty of closet space and a fridge for his drinks and snacks. He has found these cookies called “Choco-moo” which are like shortbread cookies in the shape of a cow with chocolate covering one side. He has bought at least one box in every country.
We just got back from checking out the largest mall in Central Europe, which is straight down the street from our hotel. We were not impressed. It was bad version of Hanes Mall with a half decent food court. We walked around the whole thing and went into almost every store in less than two hours. That included the European version of Walmart, Tesco. For the record, Tesco is just as bad a Walmart and we vowed never to go back there again! Or, a least until Josh runs out of choco-moos.
